Hello there, welcome to letfitbegin! letfitbegin was started as a way for me to share my road to a healthy lifestyle. I have a newfound appreciation for healthy eating and fitness fanatics so here is where I will share my thoughts as I pave my way to a healthy new me!

My name is Kayla and I’m a 24-year-old living in good ole La Crosse, Wisconsin.

I live here with my wonderful boyfriend, Josh whom has inspired me to let go of the bag of chips and make healthier choices in my life. I [now] love working out, eating (mostly) healthy foods and living a happy life.

I graduated from high school in 2007 with full intentions of earning a degree from our local university within four years later. I ended up leaving school after a year and a half of generals due to the fact that I had no idea what it was that I wanted to do with my life. My dream job, although a degree isn’t a necessity, is to be a stay at home mom, but only time will tell with that one! Right now, I’m working full time with the hopes of enrolling for an online degree later this year.

I love to spend time with my family and I absolutely love to baby them.

Throughout high school I ran track and cross country for the majority of my time there. I learned to love the sport and I dedicated all of my time to running extra miles. Although, I had a strong passion for running it seemed to fade after I graduated. With no motivation and no running partners I sunk into a fitness-free life. For the next few years I rekindled my passion on and off. I would run consistently for a month or two at a time but due to lack of motivation, I pushed my running shoes into the back corners of my closet. After I met Josh my passion was reignited. He pushed me to start joining him at the gym and I can honestly admit that I have fallen back in love with working out. I’ve slowly gotten into the groove of strength training along with cardio but my main goal is to get back on “track” with running (bad joke, I know)!

I will let you know that I am a food fanatic! I adore all types of food and I am always up to try something new. Before I met Josh I had lived alone for over four years, making it very hard to experiment in the kitchen. Now that I have another mouth to feed I find that I have spent much more time in the kitchen. I love finding new recipes and attempting to put a healthy twist on them!

I have always had a passion for writing and this blog will help me let go of my creative juices. I’ve always dreamed of writing at least one novel in my lifetime so that is at the top of my bucket list. I’m very excited to just be able to lay my thoughts out on the keyboard.
